Eric Kachur – Interim Music Director
Eric accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the First Baptist Church of Temperance, Michigan in 1976.  In February 1984 while attending Northeast Community College in Booneville, Mississippi, he felt the calling to serve in the ministry and was later licensed to the Gospel ministry that same year by Tate Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi.  

Since that time, Eric has served as a music evangelist, singing in churches in Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama.  He has also served various churches in the States of Mississippi, Florida and Alabama as a minister of music, minister of youth, and minister of education.

Eric has a Bachelor’s degree (B.S. – 1989; Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, Mississippi) in music and a Master’s degree (M.A. -1994; New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, Louisiana) with majors in Christian Education and Administration.  Eric also attended the Billy Graham School of Evangelism in North Carolina in 1990.

Eric‘s favorite musical group is the Gaither Vocal Band, and he also enjoys classic muscle cars and sports cars, and eating Italian and Mexican cuisine.Eric loves singing, directing and playing musical instruments for the glory of God, and wants to build the First Baptist Sanctuary Choir in both number and music reading ability. Eric’s favorite scripture verse: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Sharon Jo is from Tuscumbia, AL. She graduated from Cherokee Vocational High School and Northwest-Shoals Community College. She has been a member of First Baptist Church of Sheffield since 2013.

Mrs. Tina Denton Nesbitt – Secretary
Tina accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at First Baptist Church of Sheffield in 1981. She has a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Commercial Art. In the past she has worked as a Layout Artist, Orthodontic Assistant and a Substitute Teacher all the while working as a Freelance Artist. Besides her duties as our part time secretary she currently teaches art at the Tennessee Valley Juvenile Detention Facility. Tina and her husband Boyce have been married for 30 years and have two children and one grandchild.
